Carl Brettle

Mission Support was established in 1999 to facilitate a prayer project for Wales to mobilise one million hours of prayer for the Nation. The vision came to our founder Carl Brettle who had been undertaking missions trips since 1996 working with The Christian Centre, Briton Ferry, Wales.

The prayer initiative began in January of 2000 and within weeks had achieved one million hours, with people registering prayer from all over the world, some 32 countries by the end of the campaign. It didn't stop there however as emails, prayer cards and letters continued to arrive for several months after the one million hours milestone had been surpassed. The campaign finally ended in November of 2000 with over 10 million hours of prayer registered.

Obviously it's not about counting prayer hours, but the campaign certainly touched something of God's heart for Wales at that time. Many international ministries assisted us in mobilising the prayer and Mission Support after the initiative as slowly developed into a Missions Promotions agency, often going on Mission Trips and using the experiences gained to promote missions within local churches in several nations.

Gareth Killa has taken on the voluntary role of UK Director. Gareth was one of the first people to undertake a mission to Uganda in 1997 and has since been on several trips to the point where he now leads trips overseas, and works closely with the Pastor of his local church which is very active in Missions themselves.

Throughout 2002 Mission Support moved much of it's non-mission related work to other organisations that developed, many of which are completely independant. There is a strong working relationship with the other organsations listed below.

We are currently in developing a project called Mission Explosion 2 which is being developed to train up more leaders to undertake short term exposure trips with a long term view of releasing new missionaries to the nations.

In 2003 Mission Support relates to approx. 850 churches seven different nations, and works alongside many missions agencies and denominations to see the work of the great comission fulfilled.
